Lately I have been not wanting to do a damn thing. I don't know why and it bothers me. I want to change my lifestyle in so many ways.. yet I don't even try to accomplish this. I think I may have been going about it in the wrong way...
It reminds me of being in school again and having to organize and have small goals that lead to major goals... you know like 3 big projects due in one week... well first figure out what your doing, then when you need each thing done, how many pages do you need to do for each, etc. etc... I was good at this in school.. which is why I usually ended up being the 'leader' of groups for class. I forgot this mentality as motherhood inconspicuously took front stage.
Well.. enough of that! I need to 'get back to myself' or rather merge the two. Yes I need to be a mother and yes I thoroughly enjoy being a mother and yes lists can work great for being a mother.. but when I get off that list I just throw it away rather than re-organize.. you know when another professor throws in an early exam. Deal with it and move on.
So here we are again life and goals.. I'm no longer looking at the 'big picture' but rather the small steps I must take to complete the picture. So my goals of us eating healthy, losing weight, spending time together, money, and fixing up the house are gone!
It feels rather liberating! I have been so concerned with these things that its put me in a down mood for awhile.. and what gets done when you are in a poor mood for so long? nothing! So here's to changing attitudes! As my last negative note in this post... it is irritating that I used to be able to be so calm and positive about most things.. even labor.. and now I'm so paranoid and worried about everything.. I need that part of me back.. without it hurting being a mom.
My deal to myself and my family.. enjoy the times we sit around and do nothing and eat on the couch/floor, and laugh when I see something in the house that needs replaced or fixed, savor every bite of my unhealthy food when I have it, look at myself and be happy that I have reached my pre-pregnancy weight.. even if the fat is in different places, and most of all look at all the material things we do have and not worry about those we don't.
Small steps.. break things down..
New small goal for the week: drink more water.. seems reasonable.. maybe next week I'll change it to another goal.
Heres to enjoying life and all it gives you!

Goals Update!
I realized it has been quite awhile since I've spoken about my goals.. and the reason is.. I procrastinate!
big surprise... not!
Well I'm forcing myself to give a little update to my many goals in life... specifically the ones I wrote about several weeks ago... need a reminder?
Well here goes nothing...
First - Life - I am still happy and healthy and so is everyone in my family! Yay!
Second - Michael and Ella - A. well we've been going in spurts of eating healthy dinners at home. We have been on a bad kick though since Ella had a cold for a couple weeks followed by me having an ear infection.. but I went grocery shopping last night and I have a roast in the crock pot as we speak! So hopefully this time it'll last longer!
B. Oh I am making all of Ella's food so far! So proud of myself for sticking with it for the first few weeks. I've been grinding the rice and oatmeal myself and cooking it on the stove! Ella loves it! She tried her first juice this week! Pear juice! Who woulda thought it'd be pear juice?
C. Eating at the table... honestly... we have failed MISERABLY.. but we are getting an old new dining room table soon.. so heres to hoping!
D. Enjoying time together with no tv? umm yes! We actually have been doing good at this! We are in the living room but we aren't watching tv.. we are watching Ella! It is very easy to not watch tv while we are together when we have a little one who is discovering new things every day!!
Third - Financial - still in debt? yep. 8 month savings? nope. started saving for college? nope.. but I think my dad might have. Well these things take time. I can't unload thousands of dollars to get rid of all our debt... common sense tells me to relax on this and do what you can.
Fourth- prayer - Ella and I pray every night together as part of our bedtime routine.
Well there are those goals! I guess I'll keep working on them....
I have more goals?? No! Okay... yes I do.
Oh yea... I went without soda for 2 full weeks! ... then Ella got sick or we moved her to her crib and I needed caffeine. Not a coffee drinker.. so back to square one.. still drinking soda but thinking about quitting. And fruits and veggies.. not horrible not bad.. definitely not twice a day but definitely more often than before. So yay!
Exercise.. don't even ask. On a plus side.. I haven't gained any weight... :)
I'm sure you've got this one already.. but yes Ella is sleeping in her crib still! It is quite funny though.. for a little girl who HATED being on her belly the first 5 months of her life.. she sure does love sleeping on it lately.. is this normal?
I'll be trying to get reach these goals still! Do you have any new goals you'd like to share?
Have a good Wednesday!!!!

One Simple Goal
Michael and I have one simple goal for Ella... at least for now... sleeping in a crib!
We get some grief from people for this but miss Ella.. sleeps in her battery operated swing! She has since she was a week old! She currently sleeps about 10hours a night in the swing. Sometimes the swing is on and sometimes it is not... I love having her sleep in the swing because then she is in our room and I can wake up in the middle of the night and watch her sleep and make sure she's breathing.
When we move her to her crib.. it'll be in another room! Oh my.. how will I deal with that? We attempted it last night.. but at the last second I changed my mind. :( I think I'll be making a bed on the floor in her room while I get used to it.
Why is it so hard? Just thinking about it makes my chest tighten and my eyes well with tears...
I'll make it though.. maybe tonight it'll go better.
Look how little she looked... her first picture in the swing..
Goal for the week: Ella sleeping in her crib!
Oh.. my last reason for not wanting her to be in the crib.. she'll pry not sleep for the night for a bit.. I really love having my sleep back!!!! Oh my miss Ella Grace.. how much I do for you ;)

Health and Exercise
Today is the second day of no soda.. and it is hard.. headache all day. Oh well, it is better to not have any! I just thought I'd share some of my health and exercise goals.. plus a little surprise at the end!
Health - food
I am trying to eat healthy and have Michael eat healthy. This includes buying some organic vegetables, fruits, meat, and eggs. It is more expensive, but I think it is important! I want Ella to be healthy and to learn that it is not good to eat anything anytime you want. If you want to help yourself stay fit and have a longer life, then eating well is necessary! Plus, it can help to lose weight. Here is my goal: eat some sort of vegetable or fruit at least 2 times a day. Once I get in the habit.. I'll increase it. I'm also trying to get Michael to.
Exercise - blah
I hate exercising.. no that's not quite right.. I hate sweating! I have since I was little. In fact, do you remember those 1-mile runs we had to do in elementary and middle school?? Well, I was smart enough to get out doing those runs from 5-8th grade! I don't remember how, but I did it! Not because I couldn't run.. hey I played soccer... but because I HATE sweating! Anyway.. I am soo close to my prepregnancy weight that I HAVE to do something to help me along. So I now use the treadmill and take Ella on walks at least 3 times a week. Plus I have been doing some 'ab' workouts. I should start Pilates or Yoga again.. I enjoy those, but those require a set time how many times a week and that is just difficult with a baby. So here is my goal: walk/treadmill 3 times a week and 'ab' workout 6 days a week... then my REAL goal: lose 20lbs. Yes, yes it is more than I need to in order to be at my prepregnancy weight.. but hey I was trying to lose weight before I got pregnant.. haha that didn't work! But this time I'm determined because I hate being at my current weight. And really I don't really care about the 'number' but rather how I feel when I look in the mirror.. thats good at least right?
Ok... surprise! Ella started rolling over yesterday! She went from her back to her belly!! then she got mad because she hates being on her belly.. but not the point! This picture was taken as soon as she rolled all the way! Sticking her head up high! Also.. look how well shes sitting up on her own.. she fell as soon as I took the pic though haha!

Goals Goals Goals
How many goals can one person have? Just by thinking about my life and what I want to do with it, I have come up with 12 different areas in my world that I have goals in! I can't even imagine completing all of these, but it's nice to see things on paper... or internet... and then when I do accomplish one or two or how ever many I get to cross them off!! Sometimes I put items on my lists that I've already done just so I can cross them off!
Here are few of my oh so many goals... the smallest area is 'Life' and it includes being happy and healthy. As of right now.. I can cross off both of those things because I am extremely happy and as healthy as I've been in awhile. Now I can always improve on these, but at the moment I feel good enough that I can cross them off!
Next is family goals... Michael and Ella... I want to be able to eat at home more nights than not and have the food be healthy! I want to make Ella's baby food. I want to eat at the table together every night. I want to have time set aside every day where it is just us three and we are enjoying each other.. with no tv!
Financial goals... I hate spending money.. I would rather spend money on bills and getting out of debt than buy myself a new pair of shoes. Some people think this is crazy and call me a 'penny pincher' and you know what, they are right! I do all the money in our family. I'm the 'saver' and Michael is the 'spender' and it works for us. I have many many goals for this area but the top three would be 1)debt free 2)8 month savings 3)Ella college savings. We will get there and I don't think it'll take as long as I think.. hopefully.
Lastly, prayer/religion... I grew up Catholic and went to a Catholic school my entire life.. until college. So I'm not very religious and I don't do anything religious unless forced to by my Grandma :) however, it is nice to believe in something bigger than me, something I can put my trust into even if its not real. I do believe in God, but I only recently started praying and that's because of Ella. I thank God every night for her and to keep her safe. Who knows if it helps or not.. but for some reason something from my childhood came back and snuck into my head.
My life is unbelievable at the moment and I am enjoying every second.. but in the back of my mind are ALL of my goals.. and no matter what I always find myself striving for more.. more time.. more comfort.. more everything...
Goals keep me motivated, even if I can't cross some of them off!
