So I had a rap stage just like most I know... Not sure why but I favored tupac. Even had a cd of his.

love fall

I must say that I am loving this weather. 60-70degrees sunny and a breeze.  How can it not get any better!!

Fall may be my favorite season.. although I think I say that about each season in the beginning at least.

Ella is loving it also though! Her first one and her favorite thing? Picking up crunchy leaves and .. crunching them followed by trying to eat them.  It is so fun and amazing when her face and eyes light up when she sees leaves and feels the breeze on her face.  She even crawled in the grass a little! Now that we have some that isn't brown.

It makes me smile to drive down our street in the fall. It's an older neighbourhood so trees line it.. maples oaks mainly and they are just starting to turn and it looks beautiful. We used to have a crab apple tree in our front yard.. but it fell the other year so now there is q tree missing in the line but still makes me smile.

On a side note... We went out to eat on Monday night and ella dropped my phone... The screen cracked! But with some scotch tape and a screen protector it is still usable ... at least until I get a new one when we are back from Texas. Which only reminds me of all I need to do before we go!  May discuss this later but for now if you are able... Enjoy autumn which officially starts on Saturday!!

9month check up and goal

Miss Ella had her 9month check up today with the doctor!  I was expecting no shots... until I asked if she needed a flu shot and he said it would be good... so she got a shot.  she hated it and so did i but it wasn't as bad as the last time.  she goes back in a month for a booster of it.

So here are her stats:
height: 28.5in  =  85%
weight: 21lbs 4oz  =  90%
head: 45 1/4 cm

so she is healthy and doing great!  The dr believes she is just really fair skinned.. hence.. her darker circles under her eyes and across the bridge of her nose and why when it started to get cold last week her scalp got really really dry and a little dry skin on her cheeks.  Be prepared for dry spots during winter months.. i suppose she gets that from me since i get ezcema every winter on my hands and we both have fair skin.. daddy more than me though.

The dr. also said we should let her cry herself back to sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night... :( 
On a brighter note.. she will be able to have a little pumpkin pie at thanksgiving!!!  Soon after that she'll have cake for her bday!!!! omg that is soooo close!

So I have 2 goals for the week.. 1: let her ella try to go back to sleep on her own  .... idk if i can do it though it is going to be sooooo hard.........
2: post pics!  I have many I've been meaning to do but they are on my computer and I am at work posting recently.. inconvenient but it happens..

So it was a good monday so far and a busy week ahead!!  Enjoy the cooler weather!

most recent book

I went out of my box and read a book I've had on my shelf for awhile. It was one of those books at cheap book store that was way on sale so why not buy it!
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
It's a fiction and it was pretty good! It definitely caught my attention by page 100. 
It's basically about a famous author that wants this amateur autobiographer to write her autobiography. Surprise! Anyway it is a very detailed tale that helps many people understand more about themselves but is also a ghost story!
I know I know.. but trust me! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to read... Try it out!

I believe I will look for more of her books!

Another weekend gone by

We had a lovely little weekend.  Miss Ella and I spent a lot of time with papa and shopping!  Not that we got any clothes.. which I would love.. but rather to places like walmart, halfprice books, hyvee, and menards.  groceries, miscellaneous items, books, and flowers!  we had lunch at wendys one day and burger king the other... not the best but hey.. i love my spicy nuggets with honey mustard from wendys :)  cannot get enough! 

we went to coralville to visit my sister and see her 4 month old baby boy!  he is so adorable.  ella loves to crawl to him and try to pull him to her... doesn't normally go well but she'll learn.  my sister also has cats.. ella is rarely around cats due to her daddy being allergic :(  but man did she like these cats.  too bad they are older ones who are rather mean.  they swatted her a couple times with their paws that are declawed but she just laughed and laughed when they did it!  couldn't believe it.. fearless little girl.

when we went to the bookstore i got three books for myself and two for ella.  She has so many farm and jungle animal books that I decided to get her a sea animal book!  It also has flaps she can lift.  I love buying her books!  it makes me so happy!  daddy on the other hand says.. don't you think she has enough books and you should wait to buy any more until she can understand them.. i said how do you think she'll learn to understand them!? silly daddy..

speaking of books.. my dad (ella's papa) is re-doing his 'library' and the floor and bookshelves are 'supposed' to go in this week!  we'll see... but if they do then that means we get to go through ALL of my dads books!  He is a collector like me.. but his are better since he buys books that are old and possibly worth something and he won't read.  I rather read what I buy so I don't buy as many that are old.. besides.. i'll pry get his when he dies.. which he better never do.  I'm so excited to go through his books though because he kept all my old books from when I was little.. so say 17 and younger.  I remember some of them and I want to read them to Ella!  I'll keep you updated!

one kinda bad thing about this weekend?  miss ella refusing to nap.  She got up at about 630 each day and saturday she took an hour nap in the morning and went to bed at 7pm and sunday took a 45minute nap in the afternoon and went to bed at 730.  this is not usual.. shes home with daddy today though and it sounds like hes having better luck than I did.............................
............... want to know why she wasn't napping then and is now? her dada says its because shes with him.. and i'll let him think that i suppose.. but really its because she got another tooth!!  I don't even know how many she has now.. either 4 or 5.. she won't let me feel.. but I know she has the two on top and the two on bottom... ps. she doesn't do well with teething..

on another note.. i cannot wait for a new phone...

playing catch up!

Wednesday, September 5 already! I can't believe how fast August went and the first 5 days of September! 

What happened in August?  Ella pulls up on everything and gets another tooth!  She gets many more clothes and toys and cuddling time from mama and dada.  Dada had a coupled extra days off that we got to spend some time together!  We went shopping together and out to dinner together and took naps together!  Mama got busy at work at the end of the month.. I felt like a teacher going back to school.. but I'm not!  I don't know how it worked out that way but it did.  My mom and stepdad moved to a new house in Marion.  My little brother started a new school and my nephew moved back in with his mom.  One sister is about to become a licensed pharmacist!  And her 4month old baby boy is doing great!  My dad kinda started the remodel on one room in his house.  Michael's brother from up north came to visit with his family.  car accident with a deer.  great weekends with friends.  phew.. there was so much more but I don't remember it at the moment.

I didn't forget about my blog.. even though it seemed like it!  No excuses needed but my internet at home isn't always working again.. my phone is just ridiculous.. busy at work.. and man is it hard to keep up with my 9month old baby girl!!  Who by the way is walking along the furniture!! isn't she too young for that??

In thinking of things.. we are getting ready to go to texas at the end of the month for a few days.  Michaels brother has tickets to the bears vs cowboys game.. woohoo?  eh so we are going to go on our first family vacation and I am terrified!  .......... itll be okay but man i'm nervous.  we are going drive there over night.  hopefully miss ella will sleep most of it.  as a plus she has slept thru the night again for the past few nights.  even thru the loud storm last night.

after we get back i'm getting a new phone!!!!  I am BEYOND excited!!  In order to retain the pictures I have and continue taking when I forget my camera... I am texting them to a friend who is emailing them to me.. what a way to go... thank god for mattie!  don't know what i'd do without her.. and not just for sending me pictures :)

in fact.. she was here this past weekend and we went to eat at cibo's in cr.  we've been here a couple times before and let me tell you.. it is delicious!  love the blt pizza.. even though I tend to take the tomatoes off.

Finally I've decided enough is enough... I need to do better with taking care of myself.  Including have time to myself, eating right, drinking right, and thinking about exercising... it is hard to get over this hate of sweating.  i've been doing okay for the past couple days but who knows what will happen! 

I'll be around here more often now hopefully.. things have slowed down a bit at work and we are trying to get the internet working again! Oh and of course.. I reread one book series in like 5days and now have less than 100pgs left in another book.  I'll let you know this one since it isn't my usual and it has intrigued me.
